What is the Movie Culture that influence us today?

We have seen the changes in Pop Culture around us. These culture made us the Geek we are. Be it in the form of Movies or TV shows. We live within these culture and enjoy it.

Comic that turned into Motion Picture
There is great trend moving from our favourite classic comics brought into life. It probably started with X-Men (2000). Audience love the way it was portrayed, and the franchise starts going further.

Then we witnessed successful blockbuster from Spider-Man franchise. Hitting box office record with gigantic sales. Earning Marvel and Sony Pictures tons of money. Marvel soon heavily investing into Avengers franchise that followed by a series of Avenger's superheroes in their own solo movie line. People want more, they gave much more!

DC had their success in Batman franchise as well. We will never forget Dark Knight, and late Heath Ledger who won Academy Award for his performance. It was suppose to be a superhero movie. But Dark Knight created so much impact that it was still instil in our memory.

Also, look out for the latest project - Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice coming in 2016.


The rise of Fantasy genre

I personally thank Peter Jackson for this. The Lord of the Rings trilogy has broke record and created history. The only fantasy franchise that has won multiple Academy Awards. Since then, fantasy fanboys and girls have their eyes on fantasy as a promising genre.

To keep the fans happy, Peter Jackson continued his Tolkien project with the Hobbit franchise.

The Game of Thrones, an example of great TV series under the same category. Featuring an epic fantasy world full of tyranny, politics and plot among characters from different parts of the world.


Video sensation, where everyone is a star
It's free, it's available anywhere. We now have YouTube, Vimeo and other video uploading platforms that changes the way we watch video streaming. And anyway good enough can be a superstar just in these platform.

We have plenty of YouTube sensation or overnight success, so fast that Baby Boomers can't believe it actually work. From Rebecca Black to Sam Tsui to Epic Mealtime, these people are ordinary people doing extraordinary stuff.

How to they do that? Some recording setting and upload it on YouTube, and they are a star. That simple.

So what movie culture influences you today?
