News has spread among the netizens of China. They claimed that the widespread epidemic of Ebola will eventually turned us into zombies. These people must have been great fans of The Walking Dead.
These Chinese netizens believed that once someone who died from Ebola will rise up from the dead. Eventually turned into a 'zombie' and became extremely violent, biting anything that move on its wake.
Story about Ebola zombie was not something new. One netizen mentioned in Weibo back as long as 2010 that
"I don't know how reliable it is to call them the living dead, but zombies are no longer far away from us!"
Some of them even demanded China's "official response" to question "how many people will become living dead".
If that's not enough, some Netizens actually believed of a very natural remedy to cure Ebola. Drink coffee mixed with raw onion is the ultimate elixir of cure! If this really work, sales from Starbucks will grow multi-fold across countries.
None of these claim were correct. Ebola won't turn you into zombies. In fact, the disease will cause massive loss of blood. It actually make you weaker instead of stronger. And of course, won't rise up from the dead.
The remedy of coffee and raw onion won't work as well. Victims of Ebola are not vampires either!
Even so, we still need to be cautious of Ebola outbreak in West Africa, considering this is the worst outbreak of Ebola in history. If it is not contained, it can spread to Asia as well. You can probably wear your full uniformed hazard suit as a....precaution.
